Chapter 63

Chris had been mulling over his and Mickey’s conversation of the previous evening and said, “George, do you and Mike have families?”

“I have one sibling, a sister,” George said.

“And she’s such a miserable cunt that George’s parents disinherited her,” Mike said.

“Yeah,” George said. “She spent a lot of money trying to contest their wills, but in the end she got nowhere. Needless to say, we haven’t seen each other in years.”

“As for me,” Mike said, “I don’t have any close relatives. What little family I had moved away years ago and has scattered with the four winds. Why do you ask?”

“Because Mickey and I were talking about our families last night, and he seems to think it would be a good idea if we tried to reconcile with them.”

“You can make very good arguments both for and against doing that,” George said. “If it was me, I’d ask myself if there was any benefit for Ted.”
