“It’s easy to acquire the latest equipment,” he said, “all that requires is sufficient funds. On the other hand, I’m afraid you will perhaps find us a bit out-of-date on some procedures. We do our best to keep up with advances in medicine, but we’re a bit out of the mainstream here in the Duchy.”

“Make a list of the specialties you need the most and send them to me. Some of the people I trained with might find it interesting to live and work here.”

“Consider it done.”

When we were back in the car, Trevor said, “Is there anything else you would like to see this afternoon?”

“Yes,” I said, “two things. First, we need to buy a printer and some paper—a low-end LaserJet will do. Second, can we stop by a grocery store or market? I’d like to stock up on a few basic things for our little kitchen, you know: milk, cereal, snacks, and such, perhaps even a bottle of wine or three.”

“Certainly, we pass right by a computer store and a very nice little greengrocer.”
