Back in Aragoni, our house was nearing completion and we were looking forward to occupying it… after we purchased a great deal of furniture.


TO SAY THAT DANI and I were busy throughout the rest of spring and well into late summer would be an understatement. We did our share of diaper changing and infant feeding when Lucia had to deal with all three kids at once during the night, and we had a sitter come in two days a week so that she could have a couple of days off. This gave her an opportunity to explore—and familiarize herself with—the town and the university campus. I insisted that Sal accompany her on her first few trips into town, until he was able to report that she would be all right on her own.
