Chapter 101

“I picked up this vehicle so we could have dinner someplace where the trams don’t run,” I said

“You’re the tour guide.”

“Exactly.”

I headed up the mountain to our house, and when we came within sight of it, Noah said, “Oh my God. It’s our house.”

“No it isn’t,” Tom said, “look again. The mountain is a whole lot higher, the waterfall is bigger, and so is the house.”

“Well, it’s made of stone, it’s on a mountainside, and it’s beside a waterfall.”

“Yeah, so it is.”

“We won’t be a minute,” I said. “Dani and I need to check up on the kids. Come on in and we’ll show you the house.”

Lucia met us at the door with her finger to her lips. “The boys are sleeping,” she said.

“Is the door to their room shut?” I said.

“Yes, it is.”

“Then we’ll show our friends the house, but quietly.”

On the way back down the mountain, our guests were full of praise for the house.

“I hope you guys like Greek food,” I said during a lull in the conversation.
