Chapter 31

“I’m used to snooping, George, especially when I do divorce work. If I’m going to find out what Susie Jones’ husband is up to, I have to follow him around and take pictures. Anyhow, getting back to the case. The tracking information showed the van was still out at the beach, but we kept watch; and one night, we followed the Civic up I-95 into Georgia, then back to the Florida Welcome Station. The same thing happened that we’d seen happen in Columbia County. I followed the men inside the men’s room, and while I did that, Nate managed to stick a tracking device on the Civic. I also managed to free one of their victims by showing my gun. Same scenario as the one on I-75. And no, I didn’t call the authorities. I don’t know anybody in Nassau County, and what would I have told them?
