This is the story of how Emery Walters became whom he was supposed to be.<br><br>I knew I was male at an early age, something that was a societal no-no in the 1950s and still is in parts of the country today. Burying my male identity, I strove to be the best woman possible. But after raising my four wonderful children from two debilitating marriages, I found myself alone and nearly penniless. That was when Emery asserted his identity.<br><br>Life became better with the shift from female to male, a third marriage, and a wife who, herself, transitioned from male to female.

Some Fine Day

April 4: Just Thinkin’. I’m thinkin’ I should write my kids a note and ask them if they’re waiting to come see me after I’m dead.


I’m thinkin’ I should make up grocery store size gift bags of stuff we eventually have to get rid of to give as ‘party favors’ at my birthday party. I’m thinkin’ of over 300 beanie babies and almost 200 frog statue thingies, some Dreamsicles, some rocks and shells, half a dozen swords, pictures, albums, my high school scrapbook, a couple hundred books, CDs, tapes, movies, slides, fabric, projects, Barbie and GI Joe crap, two vibrators (oops!), slingshot, Cabbage Patch kid, Care Bears, Tickle Me Elmo, a drawer full of kids artwork from my various kids, a baby outfit from each of my babies…..
