Chapter 41

The first time it snowed that year ended up being December 5th,the day before Finland's independence day. Most of the snow came overnight, and the pups were outside playing as soon as it became light outside in the morning.

That day,in the afternoon,Dallas decided it was time to reacquaint his cat to snow. With an enthusiastic Noah in tow,he made his way to the back door of the barn. They undressed inside to keep some of the chill at bay,but Dallas was more envious than ever of the effortless shifting Noah could manage.

The few seconds of him trying to summon the tiglon from within made Dallas's teeth chatter and his concentration slip.It was a relief when he finally felt the familiar, slightly queasy—he hoped it would stop being so awkward soon—literal shift in his point of view, and suddenly he was roaring and scaring the sheep.
