Chapter 56

“Comes with the territory. Me being in the theater, and all. Trapped in it, really. For three hundred years.” She groaned, and not the typical zombie groan either. This one came from a much deeper place.

“Again, sorry, Lola.”

She nodded. “I know.” She then turned my way as I slowly wove between the cars. “Is this life we have now any better, though.”

I pointed at all the zombies trapped in all their various long-dead cars. “Probably.”

She also chuckled. “Oh goodie. I always did so like a definite maybe.”

I patted her back. “Want to know the bright side?”

“Really? There is one?”

I shrugged. “Dim, but sure.”

She turned and looked my way. “Shoot.”

I quickly glanced her way. “You’re easily the prettiest corpse on the entire planet.”

She coughed as she laughed. “Thanks, I needed that.”
