“You’d like that?”

He smiled at the hope in Devin’s simple question. “Yeah. Though I can’t say I’ll be much better about writing back than I am now. Ever since your dad retired, Pat’s been taking over more of the PR stuff, which means I’m covering more of what he used to do.”

“I hope he gave you a raise to go with that.”

“I’m doing well enough.” Tossing the file onto Pat’s desk, he settled in the chair and leaned back. “And you’ve got me now, so…how are you? Really?”

Even with the three-hour time difference, I don’t really think you’re going to see this tonight. But I’m not going to bed any time soon, and there’s nobody else I’d rather talk to right now.
