“Tom won’t answer my calls,” he said.
“I’m sorry,” I answered, unsure of what else to say.
“It’s not your fault. I shouldn’t have made such a big deal of it. I should have been happy for you, for both of you.”
“It’s not like that, Logan. It was just a one-night thing.”
He looked more carefully at me, and I could tell he was sizing me up, looking to see if I was telling the truth.
“Seriously,” I said. “It was nothing. He’s just some guy.”
“Have you ever had anything else?” he asked.
“I’m not promiscuous, if that’s what you mean,” I answered.
“No, sorry. That’s not what I meant,” Logan explained. “It would be fine if you were. I don’t know if Stefano is or not. He picked me with his sister at the beach. I fooled around with both of them.”
“Been there,” I said.
“Really?” Logan asked.
“Yeah, back when your dad and I were stationed on that island.”
“Ugh…you mean, Dad…?”
