That snapped me out of whatever it was I’d fallen into. How could I have forgotten I wasn’t dressed for company? I shoved the bottle back into his hands and scowled at him. “Hold this. I’ve got to lock the door.” I blocked his view of what I was doing, then turned to face him again. “Now….”

He raised his eyes. He had been staring at my ass. I forgot what I’d been going to say.

“Now, Mark?”

“Huh? Oh.” I raised my arm to run a hand through my hair, forced myself not to wince as the stitches pulled, and glared at him. “I’m getting dressed and then you’re telling me what the fuck you’re doing here.”

“You’re dressed enough for me. Besides, you’ve seen me in less.” His eyes were almost green. My mouth went dry. Drier. “After all, the last time we were together you cut up a pair of my favorite pajamas. By the way, thanks for the new ones. The size is perfect, and they’re very…comfortable.” His expression was bland, but that look in his eyes was sheer devilment.
