Chapter 31

Josh and Jake were both on pins and needles during the entire ride home, but the trip was uneventful, and they pulled up beside the barn a little after ten that night.

“Should we deal with the van before we call it a night?”Jake said.

“No,”Josh said.“It’ll be fine where it is.We can put it up in the morning, after we go down to the warehouse and unload.”

“Works for me.”

They spent a quiet night at home, but were up and on the way to the warehouse by seven the next morning.Marty and Sam drove up to the warehouse just as they were getting ready to leave.

“Do you want a finder’s fee for our cargo?”Sam said.

“Not this time,”Josh said,“but thanks for the offer.”

They drove home, unhitched the newly acquired van,and maneuvered it into the barn.“Now I’ll have another project to keep me busy,”Jake said.

“No argument there.I’m ready for breakfast, how about you?”

“You fry the bacon, and I’ll take care of the eggs and sausage.”

“Nothing like teamwork,”Josh said.
