Emma keeps her Thoroughbred horse, Wisdom, at Blakewell Stables, where Ms Larimar is the barn instructor. But Emma has a major problem. Wisdom rushes his fences, which stands in the way of Emma’s ambitions to compete with him in events one day.<br><br>The other riders at the barn ask Emma and her wild horse to leave their group lessons. Emma is already riding on a shoestring and her finances are severely stretched by expensive private sessions with Ms. Larimar, yet Wisdom doesn’t improve and the instructor gives up on her. Enter horse trainer and television star, Jason Etaloni. Will Jason's knowledge and experience be able to reign in Emma's wild steed? Or will she be forced to put Wisdom out to pasture for good?

Shoestring Rider

The admirers walked closely behind Jason and Emma as they exited the building into the dusk but none of them followed her when she peeled off to find her vehicle. She turned her key in the Land Rover’s ignition, switched on her lights and backed onto the gravel pathway to wait for Jason.


He was having a hard time getting into his Mercedes with the ladies pressing round. A good few minutes later he reversed away from the crowd and positioned himself behind Emma’s vehicle. He flashed his lights to indicate he was ready, and they left the barn in tandem. 10: The Dinner Programme


Pumped with a fugitive’s adrenaline, Emma led Jason through twisted country lanes to shake off his enthusiastic cohort and soon they came to an out-of-the-way restaurant. The food was good here, but unpretentious, and she hoped Jason would like it.
