“No, they are almost ready. Now I just have to cook them and I’m done. However, if you want to make some fresh coffee…”
Daniel was grateful for the distraction and he literally ran to the counter, turning his back to Alex.
They worked in silence for some minutes and then they sat down at the table, quietly. They looked at each other and then at the plates.
Alex waved his hand, an encouragement for Daniel to eat.
“I promise I didn’t put something strange in it.”
“After Gabriel’s chicken soup, I’m sure I am vaccinated to anything.”
“Oh, Gabriel gave you his special recipe?” Alex giggled.
“Yes, why?” Daniel asked, a little bit worried.
“Nothing. It’s good, but I know it’s kinda eww. Plus, he never told us what those little dark pieces are—”
“Okay, please. Stop. Don’t make me puke, thanks. I guess you remember I’m not nice to look at when I do.”
Alex grinned and took a mouthful of pancake.
