Chapter 43

“May I help you, sir?” the clerk asked.

“I hope so. I saw a man come in here a couple of minutes ago I thought I recognized from when I lived in New Orleans several years ago. If it’s him, his name is Al Galvez. About six-foot with curly black hair,”

“I can see if someone by that name is registered, sir.” Turning to his computer, the clerk searched, shaking his head. Getting back to Dirk, he said, “There’s no one by that name registered as a guest. Perhaps he’s visiting someone, or is in the restaurant.”

“Thank you. I’ll check the restaurant.” He did, cautiously, and didn’t see Galvez inside. So I can presume he is staying here, but not under his own name. That still begs the question, was it just coincidence that he saw me and tried to get my attention?

For the time being, Dirk needed to put that on the back burner. He had something more important to do. Recon on Mr. Wright’s house.
