“Yep. He was bragging about what a great skier he is. Even showed me his ‘fantastic’ skis.” She made a moue of disgust. “Like I know diddly-squat about them.”

“Christmas is in less than a week, meaning he’ll be gone on Tuesday,” Dirk said. “We’ll set this up for Wednesday night.”

“Who’s actually going in?” Maverick asked.

Dirk rapped a finger on the desk, looking at the floor plans and then the assembled team members. “You, me, and Tripp because he’s actually seen the basement. Fey and Galvez will be backup in case there’s trouble.”

“You think there could be?” Galvez asked.

“It’s a chance we take every time we go in someplace. This job’s a bit iffier because we’re going to be in an area with no exit other than the stairs to the ground floor. From what I saw when I did exterior recon there are no basement windows.”

“None that I saw,” Tripp agreed. “Otherwise I’d have used one to get out when Fey deserted me.” He laughed when she raised her middle finger.
