Chapter 7

All in all it was a great time at the cabin, and we both thought it relaxing and fun-filled. When leaving, driving back to West Templeton, he said, “We should do this again.”

“I think I can arrange that in my schedule.”

“Maybe we can stay longer next time.”

“Aren’t you tired of me?” I asked, believing that he was, or had the potential to become bored of my company.

He shook his head, kept his hands on the truck’s steering wheel, and said, “Remember, I’m the one that loves you, Paul.”

“And I’m working on it.” I sounded defensive, but honestly, had no intention of being rude

“Work harder,” he said, and then turned on the truck’s radio and started singing Luke Bryan songs, coaxing me to join him.
