“I’d say you have a real nut job here,” Parsons said. “Would you be able to point him out if you saw him again?”
“Without a doubt,” Joel said. “He might be at the club tonight.”
“Not if he knows we found his secret hideout,” the officer said. “Make sure everything is exactly the way you found it.”
Assuring him they had touched nothing, all of them left and the landlord locked the door behind them.
“I’ll get someone to stake out the apartment and hope we can catch this Mr. Richards or Harry Dicks,” Parsons said. “I can be at the City tonight if you think he’ll show up.”
“He’s a regular, but I don’t know when he’ll be there,” Joel said.
“Tonight is another slow night,” Sam said. “If he’s trying to hide in the crowd, he’s more likely to show up tomorrow night when the place will be packed.”
Parsons nodded as he listened to Sam. “Agreed. We’ll set up a watch at the club tomorrow. Tonight, keep your eyes open and if you see your creepy guy, let me know.”
