Leonard McNamara, one of the BCFD’s most brave, tackled the flames from one of the fire truck’s ladders, flooding Fargo’s house with gallons of fresh water. He worked for the next ten minutes, tamping the sky-reaching flames to the best of his ability, swinging his hose from left to right in hopes of saving at least a portion of the residence.
Fargo saw that Officers Dickles and Shaw were already at the scene. Both climbed out a Blue Coyote cruiser and walked up to Chief Dixon, who was calling out orders to his team to follow, attempting to help put out the fire. Dickles and Shaw spoke to Dixon, neither Fargo or Chip could hear exactly what the exchange was. After their brief discussion, Dickles—with Shaw in his footsteps—made his way up to Fargo and Chip. The lawman stood in front of the boyfriends, cocked his feet apart, tipped the front of his cowboy hat up, and said to the pair, “You do know that Shaw and I have a ton of questions to ask the two of you?”
