Chapter 6

Propping his arms on the table, he holds his head in his hands and sighs. “Kiki—”

“Here we go,” she mutters.

He looks at her from between his arms. “What?”

Without turning away from the color she’s mixing, she shakes her head. “You know what your problem is?”

“Uh-oh,” Jai moans.

“You’re going after the wrong guys,” Kiki tells him. “You can’t find someone because you don’t like anyone you’ve dated more than once. Sometimes it doesn’t even last that long.”

Jai covers his face with his hands. “That’s a bit harsh. I liked what’s his face. Eric.”

“Until he left to cut hair at Marlow,” Kiki says. “Then you were all, OMG can you believehim? What a fucking dick!”

“Well, he was,” Jai mumbles. “And you know what? He wasn’t all that great a stylist, either. So really, good riddance. Let Marlow have him. The ass.”
