Chapter 21

Eli turned to the third man who stood by the horses. Once the third realized what happened, he jumped on one of their horses and tried to get away. Eli whistled, and the horse raised his front legs, and reared. The third man fell off.

As he walked towards the third man, Eli cautioned him. “Don’t fight me. Put your hands up so I can tie them with rope and make sure you don’t have a weapon.”

“Yes, yes. Please don’t kill me.”

The man raised his arms from the ground where he was thrown and Eli reached up and grabbed his tunic and pushed him towards the tent. “Let’s go. I need to get rope to tie your hands.”

As they walked closer to the tent, Micha emerged, naked still and surveyed the two dead bodies as their blood spilled on the sand. Eli saw the third man move his hand into his own tunic. Eli swore. He knew what that meant. As soon as he swore, the third marauder took out a knife and ran towards Micha.
