Chapter 13

“Gentlemen, I expect my agents to have mastered the art of reading a wristwatch.”

Charles Alexander had been the head of T.H.R.U.S.T. for the past fifteen years. He may have looked like a kindly grandfather, but that exterior concealed a dedicated agent who expected the same loyalty from every man under him. He fixed the two agents with a stern glare. “Mr. Donauri, I had hopes that you would encourage your partner to pay more attention to propriety.”

Vincent had the decency to blush. “I’m sorry, sir. It won’t happen again.”

“I’m certain it will, Mr. Lowe. It would be nice if you could be as prompt when you are at home as you are on your missions. You two are my best agents, but I do wish you would rub off on each other a little bit.”

Nikoloz and Vincent took two of the seats at the briefing table. Mr. Alexander slid a file folder across the table to each of them. “Your next mission, gentlemen.”
