Spy Games

“I reckon I’ll just have to wait, then. Maybe I’ll learn some Russian while you’re gone, honey.”


Vincent interrupted. “He’ll be happy to go on a double date, Karla. You two and Nicole and I. We’ll call you once we get back from the business trip.”


“Ya tebya grokhnu.” Nikoloz endured another sloppy kiss from the brunette, who then tripped away with her friends, pausing only to wave from the doorway.


As soon as the secretaries were out of the doorway, Vincent, Barry and Allie burst into laughter.


“Your face!” Allie gasped, pounding the table.


Vincent raised his mug. “I told you you’d be popular if you tried.”


Nikoloz dropped his face into his hands. “I have not tried. I do not believe that I wish to try. I believe that I will return to my apartment and pack.”


“I’ll go with you. You’re in no shape to go alone.” Vincent rose and crossed to stand above his partner.
