“Uh-huh. Sure.”

“We put in a safe, soon after we bought the building,” I told him. “We actually used it until fairly recently when we decided to find a safer, and more logical place. Ergo, off-shore.”

“Being a crook is a damned sight more complicated than I thought,” Ephram said.

“If you’re good enough to make a lot of money at it, it is,” I agreed.

“Then I’m going to stick with leaving my share in that account too. After all, I will have spending money from what the gallery is paying me.”

Liddy looked wide-eyed at him. “We’re paying you?”

“Umm, yeah.” Ephram grinned. “You have to, to make things look legit.”

“He catches on fast,” Rob said, laughing.

By then, we were home. As late as it was, Duff and Liddy immediately said their good-nights and headed to bed. Rob vanished as well, leaving me and Ephram to our own devices.

“I’m too hyper to settle down quite yet,” Ephram stated.
