“Unfortunately, when you’ve been traveling as much as we have, yes.”

“Come on, slow down a bit. He hasn’t come out of the wagon yet, so he’s either not listening or doesn’t care.” Phillip Bernard waited a beat. “See, he’ll never know.” Phillip Bernard moved closer and tried to kiss Gregory.

Gregory flinched away and threw the heavy iron skillet in his hand. It narrowly missed Phillip Bernard’s head.

“Mr. Bernard, Mr. Young, and I are in a committed relationship. We don’t sleep with other people.”

“Oh come on, don’t tell me you haven’t had a little tryst on the side.”

“Believe me, we’ve both been propositioned. We choose to be faithful to each other. Please respect that, sir.”

“Oh, what fun is that? Come on, my companions have fallen asleep. They won’t be of any use to me tonight.” Phillip Bernard moved closer.

“Mr. Bernard…” Gregory put his hands up to stop him.

“Then why don’t you let me sleep with you and Mr. Greerson?” Phillip Bernard tried again.
