“Or she’s in heat, you goof,” Gregory answered with a smile. “Take care of yourself, Frankie.”
Both Frank and Jeremiah Nordhuff blushed.
“I hope the dreams don’t return,” Frank said.
“They won’t last long if they do,” Gregory said.
Frank nodded to Nordhuff, and the two of them were off, leaving Gregory behind.
Gregory took a few more minutes, enjoyed his coffee, and reviewed the chores he wanted to accomplish in the next eight days. He needed to chink the cabin, weed and cultivate the fields, and clean both the house and stable. He also wanted to start digging a well near the house, if he had time.
In between all of this, he needed to visit Sarah and James Nordhuff a few times. That would be a half day’s journey in itself.
