Chapter 44

When Will moved into Jax for a second hug, he said, “Be good to yourself.”

“I’ll do that, Will. I promise you that.”

And Jax did, always keeping his promises.

6:27 P.M.

It didn’t get dark until after nine o’clock in the evening, which allotted plenty of time to exercise following Jax’s day at the office. Corky was busy until later that evening, so Jax decided to run home from work, change out of his business casual and into a pair of running shoes, bootie socks, and Nike shorts. It was nice enough out that he didn’t need a shirt, not that he would have worn one if it was raining, since he liked to feel the rain, sun, or cold against his pecs as he exercised.
