“If you kiss me, Joe, you won’t have to speak the words you fear to say.” Dubois took his face inside his hands, lifting his mouth to his. “I’ll never ask you to say them, but kiss me.” He bent his face to Joe’s. “Kiss me, you beautiful beast.”

Vanquished, Joe crushed his mouth to Dubois’s lips, licking into his mouth, gripping the nap of his hair. He didn’t care anymore. He’d kiss this beautiful man all night.

But determined heels were clicking down the hall, heading for their cell.

Panting, with his hair all in a mess, Dubois leaned away from him. “Damn that guard to hell,” he muttered. “Salaud.” Bastard.
