I fingered the figurine and felt its smooth and solid structure. It was no bigger than a ping pong ball. As soon as I inspected the miniscule polar bear, I placed it back on its shelf, returning it to its home.

“Come here,” Patrick said, collecting me in his hulking arms. “I thought you were into red bears.”

Pulled against his frame, I felt his lips on the side of my neck and his chest against mine. As he applied kisses to my cheek, I confessed, “I love red bears.”

“I thought you did.”

Our lips met for a few seconds, pulled apart, and I asked, “Are you seducing me, Patrick Brogan?”

“I think I am. Do you have a problem with that?”

We continued to kiss, which answered his question. We had every intention of being naked and naughty, losing all our style that evening. 30: Life Is Perfect Sometimes
