“It’s going to be posh and quite nice. I’m glad that Patrick asked me to go with him.”


“Speaking of weddings, Cannon, have you heard from Lori Banter?”


Again, I shook my head. “The woman hates me for getting tangled up with her nemesis. To tell you the truth, she needs to suck up her misery and move on with her life.” I had told Gary everything about Lori’s business proposal with Always a Groomsman and how Patrick had turned her down. Every detail was disclosed, including me filing for unemployment.


“It is. And I don’t think she’s going to come to her senses and hire me back. Right now, I’m living off a savings account, which is healthy, but it’s not going to last forever, if you know what I mean.”


Joking, he said, “You can always work for me. I can always use another guy to give out handjobs.”
