On the bus back to the high school, there was near silence. Nobody wanted to sing. Nobody was dry. Most of the chaperones were even more miserable than the students. Ned was standing up facing the back, talking over the sound of tires and rain. “So today’s lesson, was in fact, human reproduction. Like anything else in life that matters, messy and hard work. And that birth today was just like it was in the old days. And on the historical perspective…” but that’s when they started to cheer.
