Tab touched pencil to paper, and waited.

Because if he was gay…if Nick were gay, then—maybe Tab could have him? But if he did…if he did, he couldn’t have Demi—and vice versa, really. There was no way to have both and Nick was gorgeous and all, but Demi had gotten under Tab’s skin somewhere along the line and…

“I want a fair fight,” Uncle Eddie said seriously, and someone sniggered. Allen bared his—mouth-guard?—and Nick smirked. “Seriously, boys.”

Tab silently hoped Nick was being telepathic again, and thought smash his face in as loudly as he could.

The sound of the bell rippled through the room, and—Nick didn’t move.

Tab had sneakily watched the odd sparring session through the glass doors at Grangefields, and had seen Nick at the bags enough to know that he moved when he boxed. He bounced on his toes, he darted, he shifted around. He was almost restless, and yet…
