“It really is,” Jonah said with a smile. “I’m not just being polite. You’re a good cook if this is any indication.” He chortled softly. “Unlike me. As I said when we went out to eat, my chief claim to fame is spaghetti—and the sauce comes straight out of a bottle. I just spice it up a bit.”
“Nothing wrong with that. I…Well, I liketo cook. It gives me something to do.”
“When you don’t have your nose buried in a book? I noticed you have a lot in there.” Jonah nodded toward the living room.
“And in my study.”
“Study?”
“I turned the second bedroom into one. A lot of the books in there are work related.”
“You don’t plan on having overnight guests, like family?”
“They’re all back east and not likely to come out to visit. Even if they did, they’d stay in a motel. They like their creature comforts.”
“Including TV? I didn’t see a set in the living room.”
