“I am going to show you how to tie up an annoying enemy if you do not go straight back to your bed.” Nikoloz punctuated his speech with little shakes of the boy’s arm.
“That’d be hard to explain to Daddy when he came to wake me up.”
“I feel certain that he would understand.” Nikoloz rose carefully, crouching with one foot on either side of the roof peak. “If you do not return to your room at once, I will provide you with a graphic demonstration of one of a spy’s most valuable techniques. Your friends at school would probably be highly amused to learn that you sleep with a Barbie doll.”
Billy’s eyes widened. “I do not! I don’t even have a Barbie doll!”
Nikoloz hauled the boy close and spoke very softly. “But photographs can be provided to prove that you do.”
Billy said nothing. Nikoloz carefully slid down the roof, still holding on to the boy’s arm. He helped Billy down onto the porch roof. “I will watch to be certain that you get back through your window safely.”
