Chapter 5

I opened the tiny box. A pear-shaped candy lay inside. The outside was clear gelatin, exposing the round, green tea center. I took the note from underneath the candy and slipped the box into my shoulder bag. I read the note as I enjoyed the soft, creamy, candy.

I hope you are enjoying the tour of some of the finest candies and sweets New York has to offer. You’re almost there. One more stop is all you have left to receive the final clue. This leg of the trip will require a cab and a trip into the village. Ask the driver to drop you in front of where it all began in 1969. Facing away from the front door, walk two blocks toward the river then make a right. If it’s not milk chocolate you are craving, then it must be dark. Into the dark is where you want to go.
