“Spared no expense, eh?” Larry asked, stepping into the room to look around.
Behind him, he heard the quiet click of the door as it shut. Then he felt Geo’s hands on his upper arms, followed by soft breath on the nape of his neck. “Larry,” Geo murmured. Damp lips pressed below his hairline behind his right ear. “God, I’ve wanted this for so long.”
“You could’ve called me.” Larry took a step forward, putting some much needed distance between them, then turned to face his friend. “You had my number. I tried to keep in touch at first. You’re the one—”

Geo came closer, took Larry’s hands in his, squeezed them tight. The heartache in his eyes was hard to bear, but Larry couldn’t look away. He wouldn’t. God, after all this time! Why now? When we can do nothing about it? Damn you, Geoff. Damn you—
