Chapter 21

Evan stilled as another feeling began to surface within him, a less savory one. His defenses slipped a bit further away as Loren took hold of him—of his soul. He tried to push Loren off, but Loren’s power overwhelmed him. He had no strength left to fight, as if the vampire had leeched every ounce of it.

“You’re mine,” Loren snarled. He grabbed Evan’s arms and pinned them over Evan’s head. “Give up, sorcerer. You can’t fight me now.”

Evan bucked his hips, which only caused Loren to thrust harder into him. Evan shouted. With a final shudder, Loren’s body convulsed with the vampire’s release. Taking advantage of the moment, Evan shoved Loren off, grabbed his pants, and ran out of the door. Once he was in his own room, he slammed the door and locked it. He leaned against it, unable to breathe, unable to think clearly.
