“I’ll hurry,” Evan reassured him.
As Will waited on the bed, Evan rummaged through Morgan’s dresser and closet, gathering an assortment of clothes for their trip. He knew Will was uneasy about Morgan, perhaps even more than his brother had been with Loren so long ago.
“Okay,” Evan said, handing Will a canvas duffel bag. “That should do him for a bit. Once we get into the tower, I can get a fire started, and it won’t be so cold.”
Will nodded and glanced at Morgan. “This should be interesting,” he said. “You sure your sleep will hold?”
Evan leaned over and drew his right index finger across Morgan’s forehead, then down the left side of the man’s face. Finally, he pressed his lips to Morgan’s. Morgan’s eyes fluttered briefly, and his chest slowed its steady rise and fall rhythm. Evan straightened back up with a satisfied smile.
“What did you do?”
