Chapter 46

“Morgan?” Evan asked. “What is it?”

“I don’t know,” Morgan whispered. “I don’t think I could explain it if I tried.”

Evan traced a slow line down the left side of Morgan’s face. “Try anyway?”

Morgan drew a deep breath. “I know last night was a bit awkward, and I apologize.”

Evan didn’t move, and he didn’t speak. He simply listened. A part of him already knew what Morgan was going to say.

“That said, I can’t deny what I feel,” Morgan continued. “I’ve certainly heard of it happening—hell, it did with my parents when they were teenagers—but I never thought, in a million years, that it would happen to me. It makes no sense at all. It’s completely unlike me.”

“What do you feel, Morgan?” Evan asked, lowering his lips to Morgan’s despite the man’s hold on his head. “What do you want to tell me?”
