“We do what we must do to get you with show. The rest is up to you. Make a good impression and fit in.” He looked Rocco up and down. “Do your best. Rehearsal with the rest of the ensemble starts in thirty minutes. Dressrehearsal for you two,” Sergei stressed. “Your costumes are in the dressing area off the shower room. Time your changes carefully. Check the seams for tears. Let me know if anything needs a quick repair.” He grabbed his phone the moment it rang. “Really? Yes!” Good news, apparently. “Please excuse me.”
“Who came up with these stupid names?” Rocco asked, back to rubbing his feet when he and Ridley were alone.
“I don’t know.” Ridley glowered at him. “Wear extra socks. Your feet are going to blister like mad in new boots.” His words spoke of concern, but the tone was quite different. “I’m going to change.” Ridley headed toward the lockers.
