“It wouldn’t even have to be my doll, actually. I could just redress a Dorothy Hamill now that I know a doll tailor. I doubt anyone would be the wiser. Dorothy’s hair in seventy-six and mine in fifty-two looked a lot alike anyway.” Dirk’s smile was sexy. “They rather all resemble each other, to tell you the truth.” He whispered it, as if telling a huge secret. “The dolls, that is. The Svetlana and the Anastasia, for instance, are identical. Anastasia had dark hair when she won, you see.”

“Ah.” Rocco had no idea, but the fact was definitely noteworthy.

“If I put my costume on an Evan Lysacek and stick him in the display case, no one would know the difference…except me. A silly thing to need, really.”

“Not at all. You’ve earned your place in the history books.”
