Chapter 14

I noticed that he carried a black suede Justin cowboy hat with a thin leather band. I found it handsome, like the man carrying it, and asked him, “What do you have there, Pax?”

“It’s a gift for you.”

“Why?”

“I have to treat my man right. I thought you’d like it.” He handed it to me and I admired its hand-stitching and detail, knowing it was an expensive present, something valuable that proved that he cared for me.

“Are you going to try it on or just look at it?”

I popped it on and said, “It fits perfectly.”

“And it looks pretty damn good on you, too.” He adjusted it a bit, moved closer to me, took me into his bearish arms, and applied a kiss to my lips that just about sent me into a state of catatonic bliss. When he pulled away, he said, “Leave it on, man. I like how you look in it.”

“You plan on riding my ass while I wear it?” I asked, chuckling at my own suggestion.

He shook his head, grinned from ear to ear, and said, “I plan on you wearing it while you ride my ass.”
