Chapter 10

Before I headed up to the second floor, a note on the kitchen table caught my eye. It was scrawled in Gray’s handwriting and simply read:

Call Paddington Smith about tuxes.4:50 P.M.

I made a mental note to call Paddington first thing in the morning to find out what news she had about our tuxes. Some emergency about the fabric or buttons. Or maybe she just wanted a final fitting. Whatever her call entailed, it would be easily resolved.

Paddington would have to wait for now. I wanted to talk with my future husband about his day, and to kiss and hug him tenderly. I made my way upstairs and entered our bedroom. 9: Upright and Ready
