Chapter 36

Pastor Tag then turned to me and asked, “And do you, Dixon Scott Pierce, take Grayson Teller McKeever as your beloved husband, here in the eyes of God?”

I swallowed my saliva, feeling a touch dizzy, and found the courage to reply, “I do.”

We exchanged our rings: matching bands of deep blue sapphire set in titanium. Then Pastor Tag announced, “I now pronounce you married. You may kiss.”

Gray and I melded in front of our guests. As our friends applauded our union, we locked lips sweetly but with heat, wrapping our arms around each other, our cowboy chests colliding lightly. The kiss lasted about twenty seconds and sent bubbles of elation skittering up and down my spine. I let my eyes close as my mind drifted to a warm and happy place. I was hitched to the man of my dreams, no longer worried that he was going to hurt me by cheating with Toby Chambers—or anyone else.
