Alexander took a deep breath and could hardly smell the salty air for the fragrance of luxuriant blooms being carried out to them on invisible zephyrs.
“How can this be?” he asked.
Christian smiled. “You saw what one man could manufacture with dedicated thought. This is the result of two men.”
They threw their arms around each other and kissed while the gentle breeze tousled their hair.
Christian was the first over the side, landing in the water with a splash and probably ruining his tuxedo trousers for good. He helped Alexander out and they waded through the shallows to the sandy shore. It felt good to be on dry land again; even better knowing it was the dry land of home.
