Chapter 14

“What do we do? How are we supposed to get home?” Thumper asked again.

“Look, I don’t give a shit what you do. I don’t have any idea how you’re going to get home. But there is no ‘we.’ That was the other one. You must be getting us confused.”

“But…but…”

“But I don’t care. Look, you wanted someone to help you get home, you should have thought of that before you let Jeremy skip out this morning. What, he ditched you here? Cry me a fuckin river.”

“But that’s just it, Jeremy—”

“Don’t you dare,” I growled. “I don’t care what happened between you and him, I don’t care why he ran off without you. Without you?! Get over it. I’ve got my own problems with Jeremy today, and how he’s taking care of his chubby little chippy is not one of them.”
