Chapter 34

“What? What’s wrong?” she said in a panic.

Tom was rubbing Tim’s back and just looked at her.

“Someone was here,” Tim said.

Eileen’s face paled and she walked over to them.

“Well who was it?” she asked as she sat next to Tim.

“He had a camera,” Tim said.

“Damn it,” she screamed. “This is ridiculous. Damn media! I’m going to talk to Bill about this. This is absurd.”

Tim couldn’t concentrate on his mother. He was shaking, lost in the memories of that night.

“It wasn’t him, okay? I’m here and won’t let anyone hurt you, hear?” Tom cooed Tim as silent tears flowed down from his eyes. Eileen gave him a hug, too, before excusing herself to go finish breakfast. Tim hoped his nerves would settle by the time it was ready. 16
