Chapter 16

Chad visited my apartment again. He had snow on his shoulders, ball cap, and jeans. I only let him inside because he looked frozen. Although I didn’t tell him to take his cap, coat, and boats off, he did.

Then he walked to my sofa, had a seat, and demanded, “I need a strong drink.”

“It doesn’t mean you’re going to get one.”

“Help a frozen bunny out, man.”

He wasn’t a frozen bunny any longer; a nickname I had given him when we were a couple. I considered him an asshole more than a frozen bunny. Too bad for him.

I gave into his drink idea and asked, “What are we going to have?”

“We?” he asked, looking at me, confusion smeared over his handsome face.

“Yes. I’ll have one with you. Unless you have a problem with that.”

He chuckled. “You’re always intimidated by me, aren’t you?”
