Those type of antics didn’t happen, though. Instead, I left a note on his kitchen table that read: Call Me—DT

I didn’t know if he would find the note or not. Maybe Melinda would discover it first and toss it away. No one could be sure. Contacting Colm, though, did seem like the smart thing to do since I wanted to see him. I wanted to celebrate the upcoming Valentine’s Day with the man, not that that would ever happen, though. How much sin could pile up trying, right?

I dreamed:

“Daron Tulsa?” I spun around in the shower at Ranard’s Gym, naked and soapy, looking as if snow decorated my shoulders and chest.

“Colm,” I whispered, surprised to see him, thinking that he had flown to Hollywood and La La Land to be with his actress lover. Warm mist circulated around his naked frame. “Aren’t you supposed to be in California?”

“The snow caused our flight to be canceled.”

“And here you are.”

“And here I am.”
