He closed his eyes and groaned at the thought of that conversation.

But on the positive side, as badly as he reeked of tequila and vomit and piss, maybe no one would come near him in the drunk tank.

As far as he could tell, that was the bright spot in his day. 7

Josh tried calling Adam again. The phone was still off, and the voice mailbox was still full. So apologies and begging weren’t working. He wandered around the house unable to settle anywhere. For the hundredth time he asked himself if it was better to go searching for Adam or if he should just give the man some time to cool down.

But Adam had been gone for over six hours. Six hours! Adam never stayed angry that long. He never stayed angry at all. Maybe it was time to start calling their friends. And having to explain the whole foolish misunderstanding over and over? No. Not yet.
